Daughter of Love: and memory is her name
hail memory, hail the Lover’s faithful friend,
Who cheer’st the night of absence, [thro’] the gloom,
Bright visions conjuring with silver wand,
And spreading Light soft as the trembling gleam
Of moon Beams on the Lake, be thou the Guard
Of Constancy, and to that gentle Breast
Which then tonight dost visit, [future] forth
The living Image of her faithful Love[!]
And if it [aught] resemble her descent,
How bright[, how] fair! O may she ever bless
Thy Pow’r for many a dear [second’d] of joy
And not one sorrow visit her with thee!
