Ah, [hot] with rash ungovern’d speed

Be passion’s rapid have pursu’d!

Your steps let wary prudence lead,

Lest she you seek your grasp elude:

For oft the flutt’ring heart with prove

A very Butterfly to Love.

That honor sanctions you employ

And every ruder step forbear,

That timid heart to you shall fly;

There, free from all alarm shall rest,

And dwell securely in your breast.
