Cast on a Rock when Breakers foam,

With scarce a Hope of help on home,

Rejoic’d the Shipwreck’d Sailor Spies

The Life Boat on the Billows rise;

So toss’d by doubts conflicting Waves

Fears restless Breakers foaming [mist],

The Life Boat of Affection saves,
