Poppies and Ferns

Poppies and Ferns

The poppy rears its glowing head

And proudly va[l]ents its flaunting red,

The gently bending ears of Corn,

No gay, no gaudy tints adore;

But more domestic life shall bless

With perfect quiet, usefulness,

The two with steady Eye pursue,

You cannot doubt Sir, which to choose.
