Alice Warder Garrett Papers
Alice Warder Garrett was a lifetime lover of ballet and music, and she saved programs from many of the performances that she attended. Today, these items are saved in her papers, part of the Evergreen House Foundation collection. These materials, which include stage notes from productions in Evergreen’s Bakst Theatre, provide unique insights into Garrett’s inspiration and creative process.
Alice was a dedicated patron of the Ballets Russes and was Leon Bakst’s official American agent.
This program for a benefit concert hosted by Alice includes a detailed description of her creative philosophy.
