Baker, Secretary of War under President Woodrow Wilson and himself a Hopkins alumnus, unveils a plaque in the Alumni Memorial Dormitory commemorating male Hopkins affiliates who died during the war. (There were also casualties among the female Hopkins nurses serving during the war.)  This event took place in October 1926.]]></dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[This arm band was initially worn by Vashti Bartlett when she marched with the Red Cross in President Taft&#039;s 1909 inauguration parade. This is the same style of arm bands worn by Red Cross nurses like Bartlett when serving with the Red Cross in World War I. ]]></dcterms:description>
