Description
Lyda King (class of 1913) entered nursing school after the death of her husband Joseph King in 1910. This mess bag is among the personal items used by King during her wartime nursing service with the Johns Hopkins Base Hospital Unit No. 18 in France. Khaki bag with brown leather bottom and detachable strap. There is a deep outside back pocket and a small side pocket. Both close with a button. The carrying strap has a small leather clasp. Lyda King written on top flap. Base Hospital #18 A.E.F.
