Description
As the second Director of the Nursing Bureau of the League of Red Cross Societies, Katherine Olmsted visited Romania to set up a local a nursing school and public health nursing services according to American nursing standards. Queen Marie presented her with this circular bronze medal with two portraits and inscription "Ferdinand Regele Romaniei si Maria Regina" on front; reverse features a scene of soldiers on horseback by C. Kristescu with inscription "Intaiul rege al tuturor Romanilor incoronatu sa La Alba Julia in 15 X 1922" [The first king of all Romanians enthroned at La Alba on the 15th of October 1922"].
