As this project utilizes songs from a single collection, it is fundamentally limited in its scope. However, it is the hope of the curator that this map will continue to be a living project. Please contact us:
- If you have data that you would like to add to an existing dataset (for example, suggest an additional publisher or venue that is missing from the map)
- If you have related data that would provide helpful or useful context to the public-facing map. Helpful or useful data might include
- Piano showrooms or warehouses
- Booking agent addresses
- Phonograph dealers, studios
- Transportation networks
- Technological advancements
- Department store locations
- Speakeasies
- Dance halls, clubs, and schools
- If you would like to customize this map beyond the scope of tools available here, you must have access to ArcGisPro software. You can download the map here, where you can add and manipulate data as you wish without affecting the public map. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
